Stress
When stress gets on top of us, Weleda remedies are soothing and non-addictive, gently bringing us back to balance. Only then can the body's natural vitality be restored.
Stress can disrupt our normal functioning, physically or emotionally. Prolonged stress can slowly wear us down, disrupt sleeping patterns, and make us feel more emotional and less able to cope. It is usually caused by problems that are hard to resolve, such as change, conflict, relationship difficulties or problems at work.
In times of high stress, nurture yourself. Avoid coffee and television, which can overload the nervous system. Regular meals and hours of sleep, walks in natural settings, relaxing baths and good friends help. There are healthy ways to cope with stress. Exercise, healthy food, being organised, dealing with problems as they arise and having a positive attitude all make a difference.
Colds & Flu
Colds & flu are acute viral infections of the respiratory tract, and because they're viruses, they do not respond to antibiotics. However Weleda's cold and flu medicines help relieve the annoying symptoms - the runny noses and congestion for example.

Pain is an unpleasant physical and emotional experience often caused by the stimulation of the nerve endings. The tissue damage releases chemical substances such as histamine, potassium ions, acids and prostaglandins and causes pain. These substances can stimulate pain receptors to the nerve endings themselves. Pain is a major symptom of inflammation.
Pain may be perceived as mild or severe, chronic, acute, burning, dull or sharp. Most people have experienced pain from one source or another, whether it be a sports-related injury such as bruising, tendinitis, muscle ache or occupational overuse syndromes like RSI. The European mountain flower, Arnica montana, is Weleda's most popular remedy, and it has been used for centuries in herbal medicine for bruises and sprains. Arnica extracts have been used in both herbal and homoeopathic form to help minimise the effects of tissue trauma from various causes and to assist in the healing process. It is also used in homoeopathic and anthroposophical hospitals in Europe.
The herb Arnica reduces inflammation and therefore soothes the pain. It aids wound healing by improving the blood flow to the area. Research has shown the sesquiterpene lactones constituents of the Arnica herb provide its mild anti-inflammatory action*. It's counter-irritant properties (isomeric alcohols) increase local circulation, which make this herb useful for temporarily relieving deep-seated, painful irritation.
