What does L-Glutamine Do?
Glutamine plays a key role in protein synthesis. With any type of training or physical stress, Glutamine in the body is easily exhaused as your body starts to break down amino acids in your muscle tissue by a process called catabolism. Supplementation with L-Glutamine helps to combat these negantive effects, instead helping you to minimise muscle breakdown, improve protein metabolism, assist strength, stamina and recovery. L-Glutamine can also assist in preventing muscle wastage as when needed it can break down by the liver to produce glucose. Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid found in your muscles- in fact approx. 61% of skeletal muscle is Glutamine.
L-Glutamine is best used before or directly after training.
