Fusion Mum-to-be Multi provides 25 vitamins and minerals to support the health of new mothers and mothers-to-be.
Fusion Mum-to-be Multi has been specially formulated to support mothers wellbeing before, during and after pregnancy, with nutrients to help:
Key ingredients include:
Activated forms of folic acid and B-group vitamins, which don't require as much metabolic processing as regular forms of these nutrients before they can be utilised by the body
Vitamin D3, which is needed for bone health
Iodine, adequate intake of which is needed for normal foetal development
It's always important to eat a balanced diet, but your nutritional status becomes even more important when you're pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to conceive.
Fusion Mum-to-be Multi has been specially formulated with 25 nutrients to support your nutritional status prior to conception, during pregnancy and while you're breastfeeding, including:
This process may be compromised in individuals with certain genetic profiles, including up to 50% of people from Caucasian and Asian backgrounds.
Fusion Mum-to-be Multi provides 500mcg per day of activated forms of folic acid, comprised of 250mcg folinic acid and 250mcg 5-MTHF as Quatrefolic®. These forms of folic acid don't require as much metabolic processing as regular folic acid before they can be utilised by the body. They're also considered more suitable forms of folic acid for people whose genetic make-up interferes with folic acid metabolism.
Mothers-to-be are recommended to take supplements providing at least 500mcg folic acid per day for at least three months prior to conception and during the first trimester of pregnancy.
Activated forms of B-group vitamins
Fusion Mum-to-be Multi also contains biologically activated and readily usable forms of vitamin B12 (mecobalamin), vitamin B6 (pyridoxal 5-phosphate, P5P) and vitamin B2 (riboflavin sodium phosphate).
Adequate levels of iodine in the diet of mothers-to-be is needed for normal foetal development, including brain, cognitive and central nervous system development.
Since many women of childbearing age in Australia don't obtain the recommended quantities of iodine from their diets, the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) advises women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to conceive to take supplements providing 150mcg iodine per day.
Many pregnant women in Australia also have inadequate levels of vitamin D.
Newborns whose mothers are low in vitamin D are also likely to have low levels.
Vitamin D is needed for building and maintaining healthy bones, and supports a healthy pregnancy and healthy foetal development when dietary vitamin D intake is inadequate.
Broad-spectrum multivitamin for preconception, pregnancy and breastfeeding
Fusion Mum-to-be Multi also provides a wide range of other nutrients, including:
Antioxidants to support the health of women's reproductive systems and maintain preconception health by reducing free radical formation in the body
Iron to aid healthy red blood cell production
Zinc and vitamin C to support healthy immune function
Vitamin B5 to support healthy stress responses in the body
With its blend of 25 vitamins and minerals, Fusion Mum-to-be Multi has also been specially formulated to support the nutritional needs of breastfeeding women, whose dietary requirements of certain nutrients are greater than those of other women.
While breastfeeding, this formula is suitable to use in conjunction with Fusion Breastfeeding Tonic, which contains herbs used to increase breast milk production in traditional Western herbal medicine.
